Who was A. P. J. Abdul Kalam?
Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam grew up in a modest family in Rameswaram and became one of India's best-loved scientists. He led the country's first satellite launch vehicle project and its missile programme, served as the 11th President of India, and spent his last years teaching and encouraging students to dream.
